Facilities

The foundation school

Gyan Ganga educational Academic welcomes the tiny tots at the age of 3 1/2 years. The school offers safe, secured, pollution free atmosphere in which they can learn from a variety of experiences. They are given knowledge of alphabet & numbers and are taught the basic skills like reading, writing and arithmetic at this stage. Emphasis is laid on development of their conversational ability and encourage them to participate in various educational and cocurricular activities. Young children are active learners and thus operate most effectively workexperience and playway methods of learning, which are adopted in the school.

The Campus

The School campus is very conspicuously situated on a 20-acre plot of land, 12 Kms. away from the heart of the city, on Raipur ‑ Baloda Bazaar State Highway with open surroundings in a healthy, beautiful and congenial environment amidst lush green lawns, flower garden and plantation with various trees along the fenced perimeter. The infrastructure consists of an Administrative Block, Academic Block, Hostel Blocks with excellent sanitary arrangements for 230 students, two large dining halls to accommodate 400 students at a time and all other utilities including the school's own filtered water supply with cool potable drinking water. An Auditorium for various cultural activities and competitions adds to the basic day‑to‑day needs of the Academy. The School Building has large sized classrooms which are fully furnished and ventilated. Playthings like slides, swings, see‑saws and a modern swimming pool are the added attraction.

The Hostel

The school provides necessary cots, pillows, mattresses, blankets and linen to the inmates with an attached wardrobe. List of the items, which are required to be sent a long with the children when they come to join the hostel, is given separately. The sanitary arrangements and toilet facilities are of a high order with filtered drinking water supply and hot water for bath throughout the year. The laundry, medical and recreational facilities also available at hostel. The hostel inmates and their parents/guardians are expected to follow and rigidly adhere to the hostel rules and regulation, as given in Annexure‑I. The hostel fee applicable for different class of student is mentioned in the fee structure. The hostel fee will be all inclusive i.e. rent, electricity, laundry, routine medical treatment, meals and breakfast with milk. The meals will be purely vegetarian but wholesome, with special diet on weekly and festive occasions.
Presently following number of seats are available in Hostel separately for Boys & Girls :

Junior Boys' Hostel - 64 seats
Girls' Hostel - 70 seats
Senior Boys’ Hostel - 96 seats

There are five houses in the Hostel, viz

Mess facility

The Academy has excellent arrangement of nutritious lunch in its well-furnished dining hall. The preparations are purely vegetarian, rich in foodvalue and balanced calories containing adequate quantities of ghee, curd, fruit, salad and green vegetables etc. The menu is prepared by the school dietician. The cooking is done by expert hands under close supervision. The mess facility provided is optional and on monthly chargeable basis to day boarders.

Conveyance

The Academy has the best possible arrangement of bus transport facility to pick‑up and drop all day‑scholars at scheduled stops within the city area, conveniently the nearest to their place of residence at scheduled/ appointed notified timings. The parent will have to bring their child/ward to the bus stop as notified by the Transport Manager and take him/her back from the same stop. Private/Personal conveyance is not permitted without prior permission of the Principal.

Library

The school library is adequately equipped with a variety of literature, reading materials of interest course books comics tales from epics, maps, pictorials, cassettes, life histories and autobiographies of national heroes, freedom fighters, patriot, literary figures, teachers of national eminence, religious Gurus and Prophet of different religions, The digital library is equipped with the latest machines like PC, internet connection, OHP and LCD projector. A wide range of educational and informative CD‑ROMS, Encyclopedias, Software’s and Packages are also available to keep the student updated with the latest trends of modern technology.

Health & medical fitness

For proper health care and periodical checkup, the school has a Medical officer It has a 8 bedded hospital with resident trained nurse for firstaid, emergency treatment and temporary hospitalisation. In case of emergency and serious ailments arrangements are made with the Nursing Homes, where the services of specialist, surgeons and physicians may be secured, as necessary. These will, however, be at the cost of parents. A progressive record of immunization, ailments and treatments is maintained on a Health Card for each student and kept in the Hostel.

Laboratoties

The school is having a state‑of‑art computer lab with 45 Pentium machines connected by LAN. It offers high‑end courses in Computer Science. There am modern Physics Chemistry, Mathematics, Language and Biology lab. All the laboratories are very well furnished and fulfill all the requirements to provide best practical education to our students.

Games & Sports

The school accords highest priority to games, sports and physical training. A 5-acre plot of land is developed as sports complex. Facilities are available for all indoor games like TableTennis, Badminton, Billiards, Cartoon, Chess etc. Field games like Hockey, Football, Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Hand ball, Kabaddi, KhoKho, LawnTennis and swimming pool. The students are encouraged to participate in various activities and eventually choose their own event of specialisation. Outstanding players and teams are trained and coached by organising camps to prepare them for competition, at State and National level. The school provides separate coaches for separate games.

Co-curricular activities & hobbies

All students at the right age will be involved, a variety of co‑curricular and socially useful activities and hobbies like drawing, art and craft, painting. dance, drama, music & gardening, They are taught 'Work Experience' in various trades and vocations of their preferences and aptitude. They are also encouraged to participate in literary activities like Debate, Extempore speeches, Recitation, Elocution and Essay writing competitions etc. so as to provide scope for self‑expression and for pursuing their literary interest. Picnics, local excursions and Educational Tours (on actual expense basis) are also arranged to help them in developing confidence, courage, and leadership and the spirit of adventure, self‑help and co‑operation amongst each other.

Counselling

Guidance and counselling is provided to children from class VIll onwards to prepare them for identified Professional Courses for spanning several areas of activities. Efforts are also being made to device some vocational courses in the field of Agriculture, Marketing, Social Services, Engineering, Medical and Computer Application, in collaboration with some of the reputed organisations keeping in view the growing opportunities for career advancement and professional growth to meet the future challenges in life.
